Job Summary

The BAS (Building Automation System) Software Engineer specializes in designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that control and monitor building systems such as HVAC, lighting, security, and energy management. This role combines expertise in software engineering with a deep understanding of building automation technologies.

This position will report to the Software Team Leader and be responsible for developing comprehensive applications-engineered solutions for specific projects and providing technical/sales support to the field organization. Candidates with a strong background in HVAC Controls/Building Automation, Applications Engineering, and DDC Programming will be considered

Responsibilities

  • System Design and Development: Create software architectures and develop applications that integrate various building systems, ensuring seamless communication and functionality.
  • System Integration: Implement and configure BAS solutions, integrating hardware components like sensors, actuators, and controllers with software platforms.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support by diagnosing and resolving issues within BAS applications and hardware integrations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to gather requirements, define system specifications, and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure that all BAS solutions comply with industry standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements.

Requirments

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is typically required.

Proven experience in software development, particularly within the BAS or building controls industry, is highly valued.
